EQUIPMENT RECOMMENDATIONS

Note these recommendations are based on riders completing the whole set of trails from Days Bay to Ocean Beach and thus are set to cover the most demanding situations; for section by section breakdowns please see the detailed trail info.

Bike use a reliable mountain bike or hybrid bike in good condition, with front suspension.
Tyres use tyres that are at least 2.0" wide, with at least a combination road/off-road tread (but ideally off-road), and always take a pump and a spare tube so that you can vary the tyre pressure to suit the conditions, and be covered in case of puncture.
Clothing dress to the conditions (usually shorts and tshirt with a jersey in reserve, though you may wish to take thermals as well), and always take a light jacket. Closed shoes recommended.
